Dear Colleagues of the AAS

We are pleased to inform you that the African Academy of Sciences Fellowship Nomination Call is now open. Nominations are submitted by current AAS Fellows and they have received the call.

However, individuals who are interested in becoming Fellows of the AAS may themselves approach an AAS Fellow to nominate them.

Profiles of Fellows of the AAS are available in the link provided at the end or contact the AAS to provide you with contacts of Fellows within your field of expertise whom you can request to nominate you.

To date the AAS has elected 396 Fellows from 39 African countries.  For this call the aim is twofold:

  1. To ensure that we have Fellows from all African countries, hence we strongly encourage nominations from Angola, Cape Verde, Comoros, Djibouti, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Liberia, Libya, Namibia, Niger, Sao Tome and Principe, Seychelles and South Sudan.

  2. To increase the number of women Fellows and we encourage the nomination of women practitioners whose academic efforts, output and excellence make them worthy of being Fellows of AAS.

More information on AAS Fellowship and the nomination process, is also available at
